The Genre research

The bands genre is indie rock, to be able to understand this genre I decided to find out about all of the key features it has in order to be a successful band. Indie rock is very diverse, in this day, the internet has been a huge part to play in many of the indie bands that are around. A lot of indie bands start independently perhaps releasing a video on the internet and then getting found by the small labels This normally leads on to them being seen by bigger labels and then slowly being seen by the mainstream listeners. The style used by indie rock bands is taken from many different things, punk rock and alternative rock. Alternative rock was used with indie rock equally however when alternative bands followed Nirvana in the mainstream charts, indie was then used to tell the difference. It has been said that indie has huge following due to the success of alternative rock and Nirvana and the huge following they had.
